NEO-MOLD™
Fast Set High Strength Castings
DESCRIPTION
NEO-MOLD is a single component casting material that sets up in
approximately 15 minutes and is ready to demold in 3 hours or less. It
can be used equally well indoors or outdoors in a variety of
architectural and artistic applications.
RECOMMENDED USES
Architectural moldings
Statuary
Decorating accessories
Composite marble and granite pieces
BENEFITS and FEATURES
Fast setting
No off-gassing of harmful fumes
No special curing needed
Interior or exterior use
Rapid strength gain
Zero shrinkage
One component, just add water
Inorganic and totally fireproof
MOLD PREPARATION
Thoroughly clean the mold and dampen all surfaces with water prior to
pouring the casting.
MIXING INSTRUCTIONS
Mix NEO-MOLD with water equal to 15% by weight thoroughly for 3 minutes.
The material will appear dry at first but will "wet out" as it is
further mixed and will be the consistency of heavy cream. Only mix
enough material to be used within 15 minutes (working time will decrease
at higher temperatures).
APPLICATION
Immediately after mixing, pour the NEO-MOLD slurry into the dampened
mold. Vibrate the mold or tap lightly to bring any trapped air bubbles
to the
surface. NEO-MOLD will start to warm up due to an exothermic chemical
reaction that is part of the setting process. Demolding can be initiated
once the casting has returned to room temperature. Moldings with fine
details should be cured for a longer period of time.
YIELD
NEO-MOLD is packaged in 50 LB. (22.7 Kg) polyethylene lined bags
yielding approximately 0.55 ft3 (15.6 Liters) after mixing with water.
NEO-MOLD can be customized by adding up to 60% by weight of such fillers
as marble chips, granite chips, granite sand or quartz chips. With the
addition of fillers yield is approximately 0.83 ft3 (23.4 Liters).
Setting times will increase with the addition of fillers.
COLOR
Any oxide pigments or universal colorants may be used at about 1-2% by weight.
CLEAN UP
Clean all tools and equipment with soap and water
immediately after use.
SHELF LIFE
One year from date of manufacture in the original unopened container.
Unused material should be kept in a closed container and protected from
moisture and other contaminants.
